University of Michigan promotes Kazerooni

The University of Michigan Medical School has named Dr. Ella Kazerooni as interim chair of its department of radiology.

Kazerooni, who joined the University of Michigan faculty in 1992, is a professor of radiology and internal medicine, associate chair for clinical affairs, and director of cardiothoracic radiology. She also serves as founding chair of the radiology service excellence committee, where she led an effort to develop and implement a department-wide service excellence program, according to the university. The department's patient satisfaction scores have subsequently increased across all modalities and service locations, receiving some of the highest scores in Michigan Medicine, the university said.

Kazerooni replaces Dr. Reed Dunnick, who has stepped down as radiology department chair after 26 years of service.
