Sensus' revenues slip in Q3

Lower sales of its robotic intraoperative radiation therapy (IORT) system adversely affected the revenue picture at superficial radiation therapy provider Sensus Healthcare in the third quarter of 2019.

For the quarter (end-September 30), revenues declined to $5.8 million, compared with $6.3 million in the third quarter of 2018. The company recorded no international sales in the third quarter and reported a delay of orders for its Sculptura IORT system. Gross profit for the third quarter totaled $3.8 million, compared with $4.2 million in 2018's third quarter. The company's net loss rose to $730,000, compared with a net loss of $458,000 in the same quarter a year ago.

For the nine-month period, revenues climbed 3% to $18.8 million, compared with $18.3 million for the same period of 2018. Gross profit held steady at $12.1 million, compared with $12.1 million in the same 2018 period. The nine-month net loss increased to $2.7 million, compared with a net loss of $2.1 million in the same period of 2018.
