ASNC names Beanlands as president

The American Society of Nuclear Cardiology (ASNC) has named Dr. Rob Beanlands as its president for 2019.

Beanlands currently serves as chair and division head of cardiology at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, and director of the university's National Cardiac PET Centre. He is also a founding member of the ASNC, a member of its board of directors, and a longtime associate editor of the Journal of Nuclear Cardiology.

Beanlands plans to focus on appropriate use criteria, maximizing the value of nuclear cardiology testing for high-quality, cost-effective cardiac care, and expanding the ASNC's international footprint during his term.
