Subtle Medical wins 1st clinical installation for SubtlePET

Imaging artificial intelligence (AI) software developer Subtle Medical's SubtlePET AI algorithm has been placed into clinical use at Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian in Newport Beach, CA.

The institution is the first in the U.S. to use SubtlePET clinically, which is designed to reduce a patient's PET scanning time from 18 minutes to 4.5 minutes. It is currently being used at Hoag's Advanced Technology Pavilion in Newport Beach, with future expansion planned for other locations, according to Hoag.

The hospital said it was one of five research partners that participated in a clinical trial to assess SubtlePET and its effect on patients and the standard of care.
