Ultrasound technology developer Exact Imaging has completed the first U.S. installation of its ExactVu high-resolution microultrasound system for prostate biopsies.
The recipient is Urology of Virginia, which operates six facilities in the state.
The ultrasound-guided prostate biopsy device is designed to help urologists sample the prostate and gather tissue to determine the presence of cancer. Urologists also can visualize areas of interest in the prostate and target biopsies of suspicious areas, in addition to performing systematic ultrasound biopsy protocols.
