Butterfly Network handheld ultrasound unit approved in Canada

Portable ultrasound developer Butterfly Network announced that its full-body portable ultrasound unit Butterfly iQ has been approved by Health Canada.

The Butterfly iQ now is available to Canadian healthcare practitioners and health systems. The company believes the scanner is a vital tool that can be used to assess COVID-19 patients.

Currently, the handheld ultrasound unit is being used by about 15,000 healthcare practitioners around the world, according to the company.
