Insightec's Exablate Neuro gets approval in India

MR-guided focused ultrasound (MRgUS) developer Insightec will be bringing its Exablate Neuro incisionless neurosurgery technology to India.

Insight said it has received regulatory approval for Exablate Neuro from India's Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of India's Central Drugs Standard Control Organization. The platform uses MR-guided focused ultrasound to ablate a small target deep within the brain without incisions.

Exablate Neuro will be used to assist in the treatment of patients with essential tremor, tremor-dominant Parkinson's disease, and neuropathic pain. Over 80 sites around the world are treating essential tremor patients with Exablate Neuro, according to the company.
