Contrast agent developer E-Z-EM reported sales of $27.6 million in its fiscal first quarter, down slightly from the $27.7 million posted in the same period last year. For the period (end-September 1), the Westbury, NY-based firm had a net loss of $112,000, compared with net earnings of $1.8 million last year.
First-quarter results were adversely affected by a decline in U.S. sales of non-CT contrast media products, as well as a decline in international markets, according to E-Z-EM.
