VIENNA - Contrast developer Amersham Health of the U.K. this week launched an online version of its Encyclopedia of Medical Imaging, a comprehensive encyclopedia of medical imaging terms.
The encyclopedia includes 8,300 images and 17,000 entry words, from "A cell" to "zygomatic fractures." The NICER Institute, an educational collaboration between Amersham and Lund University of Sweden that was discontinued last year, developed the reference. The project was spearheaded by Dr. Holger Pettersson of Lund, and included the participation of luminary radiologists from around the world.
The encyclopedia was first published last year in book form and on CD-ROM. The online version can be accessed through Amersham’s corporate Web site (www.amershamhealth.com), or at www.medcyclopaedia.com.
