Thorelius returns: Ultrasound of pancreatic lesions

Dear AuntMinnie Member,

Fans of Dr. Lars Thorelius, rejoice -- a new installment of his ongoing series on ultrasound imaging is now available for viewing in our Ultrasound Digital Community.

Our new story covers ultrasound of focal lesions of the pancreas. Cancer of the pancreas can have serious clinical consequences, and surgical intervention is usually only possible when the disease is discovered early. Fortunately, most of the pancreas is easily viewed via ultrasound.

The article includes descriptions of the types of pancreatic cancers that are most commonly seen, and tips for how to detect them on ultrasound. As in past Thorelius stories, our newest article features dynamic clips that enable you to benefit from ultrasound's unique ability to provide full-motion images.

Many AuntMinnie members have found Dr. Thorelius’ articles to be excellent teaching tools, or useful ways to brush up on imaging techniques. You’ll find the newest installment in the Ultrasound Digital Community, at ultrasound.auntminnie.com.

After you've read the article, you might consider voting in the Minnies, if you haven’t already done so. Wednesday, October 15 marks the final day for semifinal voting -- to cast your ballot just go to minnies.auntminnie.com. To see a list of the top five semifinal candidates so far, click here.
