Hitachi Medical Systems America of Twinsburg, OH, has completed installation of its Probeat proton beam therapy system at the University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
Probeat is designed to produce and deliver a proton beam for the treatment of patients with localized tumors and other conditions susceptible to treatment by radiation.
M. D. Anderson and Hitachi broke ground on the $125 million radiation oncology complex in June 2003.
