Industrial conglomerate Tyco International of Mansfield, MA, plans to spin off its healthcare division, which includes contrast developer Mallinckrodt of St. Louis.
The new entity will be changing its name to Covidien and will be an independent, publicly traded company. Covidien will be spun off from Tyco this spring, according to the company.
