Fittingly, our most popular story this week was our roundup of the most highly viewed articles on AuntMinnie.com in 2023.

This year’s list featured attention-grabbing topics ranging from the effect of cannabis on the brain, long COVID brain fog, billing disputes, higher radiologist earnings, and of course, ChatGPT. You can access these stories and the rest of the top 10 list by clicking here.

Compared with other specialties, academic radiologists have a higher-than-average rate of intention to leave their institutions, according to a study that also drew substantial interest from AuntMinnie.com members this week. Interestingly, however, nuclear medicine physicians were the least likely to intend to leave, followed not too far behind by neuroradiologists. Get all of the details here.

In other news, a portable PET scanner appeared to be feasible for clinical brain imaging, according to a new study. The researchers revealed that the portable scanner achieved similar results to conventional PET imaging in human subjects.

Also, a team from the Netherlands reported that 3D elastography can be utilized to analyze in vivo strain images acquired on an automated breast volume scanner. They found that the technique could differentiate between malignant and benign lesions.
