U.S. health care, including radiology, is both a large polluter and extremely resource-intensive. Yet planetary health and sustainability is an emerging field and likely an unfamiliar topic for most radiologists.
To that end, John Scheel, MD, PhD, of Vanderbilt University, and Julia Schoen, of Atrium Wake Forest Baptist Health, recently edited a special focus section on climate and sustainability in the February issue of the Journal of the American College of Radiology.
