Voxar to unveil virtual colonoscopy software

Three-dimensional software developer Voxar will launch its Colonscreen virtual colonoscopy software at next week's RSNA meeting in Chicago. A complete virtual colonoscopy workflow and reporting application, Colonscreen allows radiologists to interpret and generate a report from CT or MR studies, typically within 10 minutes, according to the Edinburgh, Scotland-based vendor.

Colonscreen provides 2-D and 3-D views of a patient's insufflated colon, and offers real-time manipulation of colon image data and a comprehensive reporting system that conveys patient information to referring clinicians, according to Voxar. Hospital and imaging centers handling one Colonscreen study per day can achieve a return on their investment within four months of implementation, according to the vendor.
