E-Z-EM debuts virtual colonoscopy tagging agent

CHICAGO - Contrast agent developer E-Z-EM has introduced Tagitol, a tagging agent designed to improve visualization of the bowel during virtual colonoscopy exams. Tagitol is a radiopaque contrast medium that marks any stool remaining in the colon, allowing physicians to distinguish stool from surrounding tissue, according to the Westbury, NY-based vendor. Electronic subtraction software allows doctors to eliminate stool electronically from the virtual image.
