Amersham adds new contrast packaging

Pharmaceutical provider Amersham Health has introduced a new packaging approach for its Omnipaque and Visipaque contrast agents. The new polymer bottle is unbreakable, and is both smaller and lighter than glass equivalents, according to Amersham of Princeton, NJ.

The packaging also includes an easy-to-open polymer cap, a latex-free bull’s eye stopper, peel-off tracking labels, and an integrated hanger for easy IV use, according to Amersham. The new bottle has a three-year shelf life, and both contrast agents will also continue to be available in the traditional glass bottle.
