The American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) has created an online learning program to help would-be CT technologists prepare for a career in the modality.
The CT Basics package is now available from the Albuquerque, NM-based organization for practicing technologists, educators, and students. The package's 10 interactive modules are designed to provide radiologic technologists with an overview of the fundamentals of CT, featuring colorful images with animation to aid the learning process.
The package covers topics including fundamentals of CT, equipment, and instrumentation; data acquisition, applications, imaging processing, and reconstruction; patient safety, imaging quality, and procedures; and sectional anatomy and pathology.
Practicing technologists will earn at least one Category A continuing education credit for each module. Participants who successfully complete all modules earn 14 CE credits and receive a diploma from the ASRT recognizing their achievement.
