London-based Oxford Instruments has acquired Platinum Medical Imaging of Deerfield Beach, FL, for an initial cash payment of $18 million, plus the option of future payments.
Platinum Medical Imaging provides scanning components and service for MRI and CT, including equipment selection, site planning, installation, and training. The deal includes a deferred payment of up to $37 million over the next three years depending on performance.
Oxford currently operates an MRI service business, OiService, in North America. The addition of Platinum is expected to expand its service offerings on the continent and globally.
