Toshiba America Medical Systems said it has received clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its Aquilion RXL CT scanner.
The 16-detector-row scanner features Toshiba's adaptive iterative dose reduction (AIDR) 3D technique, which is designed to reduce radiation dose compared to conventional scanning and assist clinicians in treatment planning.
The system also offers National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) XR 25 dose-check software, which improves awareness of the radiation dose administered to patients.
