A special issue of the Journal of the American College of Radiology, to be published online March 3, will focus on radiation dose optimization.
The issue will be guest edited by Dr. Rebecca Smith-Bindman from the University of California, San Francisco and John M. Boone, PhD, from the University of California, Davis, and it will examine dose optimization from a variety of perspectives, according to JACR.
Articles will cover the following topics:
- Misleading values generated from CT dose index volume and dose length product measurements
- Radiation risk communication for pediatric patients
- Improving the use of clinical decision-support tools for imaging
- CT protocol review and optimization
- An interactive computer simulation for learning the fundamentals of CT dose optimization
