Toshiba America Medical Systems has implemented its Protect program at Houston Healthcare to reduce dose in CT exams.
According to the company, its adaptive iterative dose reduction (AIDR) 3D technique and Protect program have helped Houston Healthcare reduce dose by 65% in routine abdomen/pelvis exams, 59% in routine chest exams, and 7% in routine head procedures.
Houston Healthcare uses three Toshiba Aquilion 64 CT scanners and an Aquilion Prime scanner for all general CT exams, including head, abdomen, pelvis, and chest.
Houston Healthcare has also developed a dose reduction committee with Toshiba's strategic partner Phoenix Technology. Through the partnership, Houston Healthcare can identify and track dose data while quantifying the differences and levels it is achieving.
