Radiology Oncology Systems has signed a multiyear agreement to sell the SafeCT-29 CT radiation dose monitoring software from Medic Vision Imaging Solutions.
SafeCT-29 is a software package enabling CT operators to ensure that their systems comply with radiation dose monitoring requirements, as required by the Protecting Access to Medicare Act (PAMA), using the XR-29 standard from the National Electrical Manufacturers Association. The software has been cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
U.S. facilities have three months to implement compliance with XR-29 before a 15% cut in Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement goes into effect. Radiation Oncology estimates that 2,000 to 3,000 CT scanners in the U.S. do not comply with the requirements.
