Philips Healthcare parent Royal Philips said its new R&D center of excellence for CT and advanced molecular imaging will open in the first quarter of 2019.
Currently under construction, the new center will employ roughly 175 people in its various laboratories and testing facilities, Philips said. The center is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2019, at which time the Cleveland site will cease its manufacturing services and focus instead on innovation and customer service, according to the company.
In February 2018, Philips announced that it is halting manufacturing at the Cleveland facility in favor of manufacturing in China and Israel.
