The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has cleared conebeam CT technology developer CurveBeam's HiRise weight-bearing CT system for lower extremity imaging.
HiRise can scan from the hip and pelvis to the feet while patients stand, the company said. The device received the CE Mark in October; two were installed for investigational studies before FDA clearance at the University of Iowa Carver School of Medicine in Iowa City and at Tennessee Orthopaedic Clinics in Knoxville, according to CurveBeam.
