Canon Medical Systems plans to accelerate its clinical research on photon-counting CT (PCCT), both domestically and internationally.
In April, the company began joint research on PCCT with the National Cancer Center Hospital East in Kashiwa City, Chiba, Japan. It has also inked partnerships with Radboud University Medical Center in Nijmegen, the Netherlands, and Hiroshima University in Hiroshima, Japan. The Radboud research will be led by Prof. Mathias Prokop, MD, while the Hiroshima research will be led by Prof. Kazuo Awai, MD, Canon said.
