QT Imaging Holdings announced a new partnership with University of Oklahoma (OU) and National Cancer Institute OU Health Stephenson Cancer Center (SCC) for breast cancer research using acoustic CT.
OU’s medical imaging center recently launched a multidisciplinary biomedical research project that involves equipment and facilities, including QT Imaging's Breast Acoustic CT technology, QT Imaging said.
"We look forward to collaborating with OU investigators to develop AI/ML-based algorithm tailored for our 3D images," stated QT Imaging's chief science officer Bilal Malik, PhD, in the announcement. "We intend to take these algorithms through regulatory clearance pathways to ease the clinical workflows and to derive further insights from the inherently quantitative images of QTI’s technology.”
OU Health Stephenson Cancer Center director Robert Mannel, MD, said QTI’s acoustic CT imaging technology will be incorporated into clinical research and validated for its strengths in imaging frequently for disease progression and assessing volumetric breast density without exposing patients to radiation.
