Eastman Kodak has announced a strategic alliance with computer-aided detection developer R2 Technology. Rochester, NY-based Kodak plans to integrate R2’s CAD software into its current and future computed radiography (CR) and digital radiography (DR) systems. CAD technology will be on display at both Kodak’s and R2’s booths at this year’s RSNA meeting.
Kodak and Los Altos, CA-based R2 will work together to develop new applications for CAD technology, including identifying regions of interest in lung fields utilizing CR and DR systems. The firms will also evaluate the technology’s utility in breast cancer screening with digital mammography systems, according to Kodak.
