Quantum to incorporate Canon x-ray detectors

Quantum Medical Imaging will incorporate Canon Medical Systems' flat-panel digital x-ray detectors into its radiography systems in a deal the companies announced at last week's RSNA meeting.

Quantum will offer Canon's CXDI-22 detectors as part of its Q-Rad line of x-ray products, which were launched at the RSNA show. Quantum customers will be able to purchase a Quantum system with the flat-panel technology, or upgrade an installed system in the field, according to the Ronkonkoma, NY, company.

Quantum has also agreed to develop specialized imaging components to be used in conjunction with technology developed by Irvine, CA-based Canon.
