InfiMed releases StingRay

Digital x-ray developer InfiMed has begun production shipments of its StingRay DR flat-panel digital detectors. With its universal bucky replacement system, StingRay DR can serve as an upgrade for all industry-standard x-ray equipment, according to Liverpool, NY-based InfiMed.

StingRay DR uses Trixell's Pixium 4600 amorphous silicon flat-panel detector with a custom-designed, high-speed imaging system, and offers an active image area of 17 x 17 inches. Last fall InfiMed completed a clinical trial of StingRay DR at the University of Alabama Birmingham Medical Center's Kirklin Clinic.
