UCLA installs Fujifilm digital chest system

UCLA Medical Center has installed the FDR 5501D cassetteless digital chest system by Fujifilm Medical Systems USA. The 668-bed medical center began its transition from film to digital imaging 12 years ago, and said it chose Stamford-CT-based Fujifilm based on the image processing and system design of its devices.

UCLA Medical Center now utilizes one FCR 5501D, 11 Fuji cassette-based CR readers, one FCR 9501ES chest imager and other associated equipment to maximize the flow of its digital imaging work, Fujifilm said. The installation marks the 800th worldwide cassetteless digital upright reader for Fuji.
