Digital x-ray developer Swissray International is expecting to report fourth-quarter digital x-ray revenues of $19 million, an increase of 34% compared with the previous year. The Elmsford, NY-based vendor anticipates that shipments will be up 80% for the fiscal year, reflecting, in part, the addition of an entry-level system to the product line early in the year. Swissray did not provide any earnings guidance in the release.
Swissray executives are equally optimistic about the 2002 fiscal year. While quarterly order rates will demonstrate some unevenness due to hospital budgeting cycles and business customs, Swissray expects new order bookings in the coming year to be substantially higher than the current fiscal year. The company is basing this projection on current expressions of order interest in both the U.S. and key international markets. In addition, Swissray said it is experiencing a continuing reduction in its selling cycles and an increase in repeat orders.
