The FDA has cleared the Konica Regius Model 350 computed radiography system, which features a larger exposure field than its predecessor, Model 330. Konica Medical Imaging of Wayne, NJ, received 510(k) clearance in March for Model 350.
According to the company, Model 350 has a 17 x 17-inch exposure field, compared to a 14 x 17-inch field for the earlier model. Model 350 can produce six exposure sizes.
The product’s optical and scanning system utilizes one plate that is never touched. It is 20% faster than before, cycling in 17 seconds or less, up to 210 exposures an hour, and can operate on standard 110-volt current.
Konica says Model 350 will be released in early summer. A list price has not been established.
