Siemens Medical Solutions has partnered with Stereotaxis of St. Louis to create a digital imaging system that can be combined with magnetic navigation systems for interventional procedures. The system was introduced this week at the Cardiovascular Therapeutics Conference in Washington, DC.
The system combines Siemens' AXIOM Artis dFC digital fluoroscopic imaging equipment and Stereotaxis magnetic navigation systems. It is designed to help cardiologists improve the ease and accuracy of catheter-based procedures. The system fits into a standard cath lab room, and will allow clinicians to perform the majority of the procedures remotely from the control room, according to Siemens.
