Biospace Med

(Booth 5534) French biotech firm Biospace Med will showcase its EOS digital x-ray imager for 2D imaging use at the 2007 RSNA meeting.

The Paris-based firm introduced EOS at the 2006 RSNA show, and earlier in 2007 received marketing clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to market EOS for 2D imaging. Designed for orthopedic imaging, the system's slot-scanning technology allows for low radiation doses and can perform long-length digital imaging in a single scan, according to Biospace Med.

EOS can capture a full or partial body image, and multiplanar images can be taken at the same time while the patient is in an upright, weight-bearing position.

Also in Biospace Med's booth will be its 3D workstation, designed to generate a 3D skeletal reconstruction from two simultaneous planar images. The workstation is currently available in Europe and Canada.
