(Booth 4129) Philips Medical Systems of Andover, MA, plans to showcase its line of digital and conventional x-ray systems, including a new digital portable x-ray device designed for distributed locations in the healthcare enterprise.

2007 10 22 11 35 26 706The company will unveil as a work-in-progress Practix Convenio DR, a wireless digital portable x-ray unit designed for the operating room, emergency room, and intensive care unit. The system includes Philip's Eleva user interface and its Unique image processing algorithm. It will be available in the U.S. in fourth quarter 2008, according to the company.

Philips will also exhibit a work-in-progress wireless flat-panel detector for Practix Convenio DR and digital radiographic rooms; the detector will be available in the third quarter of 2008 for DR rooms.

Also in Philips' booth will be its DRF Room Solution, which combines radiography and fluoroscopy in one room. DRF Room Solution consists of a digital table detector and vertical stand, and allows users to get better use of older fluoroscopy rooms, Philips said.
