French digital radiography developer Biospace Med has raised $18 million in venture capital financing for worldwide market expansion of the EOS ultralow-dose 2D/3D x-ray imager.
The EOS digital x-ray imager for 2D imaging captures a whole or partial body image in a single scan without digital stitching, at a reduced radiation dose, according to Biospace. Additionally, the Paris company reports that the system permits simultaneous biplane image acquisition, based on patented particle detector technology.
The system received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in October.
