Carestream Health of Rochester, NY, has received clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its Carestream DRX-1 system.
The wireless digital radiography detector is the size of a standard cassette and fits existing x-ray rooms without having to replace or modify existing equipment.
Carestream is set to begin shipping in the next several weeks, following trade trials and other advance preparations that currently are under way.
