Philips Healthcare of Andover, MA, has installed a flat-panel digital angiography system outfitted with the company's new XperSwing technology at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute (UOHI).
XperSwing's fully automated C-arm operates on two axes simultaneously, enabling it to swing in a 3D arc around a patient, providing flexibility of movement to capture the required coronary images and giving medical teams the ability to view live 3D images of the arteries to improve the quality of diagnosis and treatment.
UOHI conducts approximately 6,000 catheterizations each year.
