Fujifilm Medical Systems USA of Stamford, CT, has unveiled a new work-in-progress flat-panel digital radiography (DR) cassette at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) annual meeting in New Orleans, the company said.
The 14 x 17-inch FDR D-EVO requires no modification to existing radiographic rooms. It features Fuji's patented ISS (irradiation side sampling) technology to increase image sharpness and offer better edge enhancement. It also includes a detachable cord that allows users to reposition the panel more easily in the radiographic table or wall stand and reduce potential trip hazards of a tethered cord.
FDR D-EVO has not yet been cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Fuji said.
