Shimadzu Medical Systems USA, a subsidiary of Shimadzu of Kyoto, Japan, has opened a new manufacturing facility for medical systems in Kyoto.
The operation will accommodate a variety of production lines for angiography systems and x-ray tubes, as well as a training center, parts control center, service management department, and quality assurance department.
Shimadzu's manufacturing facility in Shimane, Japan, will continue to produce conventional imaging systems, while the new plant will manufacture all other products in an effort to reduce overall costs.
