Increased demand for its products as a result of improving market conditions helped medical imaging firm Analogic of Peabody, MA, add to its revenues and profit in fiscal 2010 (end-July 31).
For the year, revenues increased 7% to $423.6 million, compared with revenues of $396.1 million in fiscal 2009. Net income for fiscal 2010 totaled $15.6 million, compared with net income of $3.7 million for fiscal 2009.
Analogic also noted that its operating margins improved to 5% in fiscal 2010, compared with a loss of 1% in fiscal 2009.
In the company's fourth fiscal quarter, revenues increased 20% to $117.8 million, compared with $98.3 million in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2009. Net income was $7.1 million, compared with a loss of $285,000 for fiscal 2009's fourth quarter.
Revenues from the company's CT and MRI segment advanced to $63.4 million in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2010, compared with $51.2 million in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2009. Analogic's digital radiography revenues also increased to $9.9 million in the fourth quarter, compared with $8.4 million in the same quarter a year ago.
