Carestream Health will show new digital radiography (DR) software and hardware upgrades at the American Healthcare Radiology Administrators (AHRA) annual meeting next week in Grapevine, TX.
The upgraded DR software is designed to streamline the management of dose and exposure data. New features include a new DR total quality tool (TQT) phantom and software to measure image quality to verify that all Carestream DR or DRX detectors operate within specified ranges.
In addition, administrative analysis and reporting software allows administrators or physicists to monitor the exposure index, TQT data, and reject rates. The software also enables collection and review of other data for all Carestream computed radiography (CR), DR, and DRX systems.
Carestream will also introduce upgrades for its DRX-Evolution radiography suite, including the ability to review and approve images on the system's overhead tube crane display. Automatic supine long-length imaging for DRX-Evolution will also be available for table-based exams.
Finally, two new mobile imaging retrofit kits allow healthcare providers to convert existing portable imaging systems to DR using a Carestream DRX detector. Both new retrofit systems are designed for x-ray imaging equipment from most suppliers and will be available in the third quarter.
