Siemens Healthcare has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 510(k) clearance for its Mobilett Mira mobile digital radiography (DR) system.
Mobilett Mira features a wireless detector to facilitate exams for patients with limited mobility, as well as a swivel arm that can move vertically and also rotate up to 90°, according to Siemens. The swivel arm also integrates all electric connection cables.
Mobilett Mira yields a resolution of more than 7 million pixels and has exposure times beyond 1 msec, Siemens said. It can also be maintained and updated remotely by Siemens Remote Services (SRS), which regularly provides the system with recommended software updates.
The unit is now commercially shipping in the U.S.
