Fujifilm Medical Systems USA has released its FDR D-Evo Wireless 17 x 17-inch flat-panel detector.
The new larger detector is designed to accommodate wider-field exams to match the requirements of today's larger patient population, according to the vendor.
Fuji said the new addition to the FDR D-Evo product line reduces the amount of time needed for technologists to reposition and rotate the detector during chest or abdominal imaging. In addition, the detector size is particularly useful in portable examinations where additional field-of-view can be beneficial during difficult positioning, Fuji said.
Fuji has also included its Dynamic Visualization image processing software, which is part of the system's FDX Console workstation. Dynamic Visualization is designed to enhance image quality throughout the entire exposed area to allow physicians to more efficiently visualize detail, according to the vendor. FDX Console also includes features such as auto-trimming, which enables off-center images of smaller anatomy to be sent to PACS at full size for optimal viewing, Fuji said.
Fuji will showcase the new detector, which joins the company's existing FDR D-Evo Wireless 14 x 17-inch flat-panel detector, at next month's 2011 RSNA meeting in Chicago.
