Carestream ships DryView Chroma imager

Carestream Health has begun shipping its DryView Chroma imager, which recently received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance, to healthcare providers worldwide.

The printer outputs grayscale and color DICOM images from most digital modalities onto Chroma medical film for diagnosis or Chroma medical paper for use by referring physicians and patients, according to Carestream.

DryView Chroma prints studies from PET/CT, MRI, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, general purpose computed radiography (CR), general purpose digital radiography, PACS, and image-enabled electronic medical record (EMR) systems.

In other Carestream news, the company announced enhancements to its image acquisition software used with its tabletop CR systems. The new software will begin shipping with all new tabletop CR systems in early November and is currently available for order as an upgrade to existing tabletop CR systems, according to Carestream.
