GE Healthcare has acquired Brazilian interventional x-ray developer Xpro. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Xpro has more than 15 years of experience and more than 120 systems installed at private customer sites in Brazil, according to GE. Xpro's interventional x-ray product capabilities combined with GE's complementary imaging technology and global distribution presence will significantly enhance GE's offerings in Brazil, while creating a broader platform that will address access and quality challenges in emerging interventional x-ray segments, GE said.
Xpro will be part of GE's Detection & Guidance Solutions (DGS) business, expanding the unit's engineering and manufacturing presence in Brazil, GE said. The company will also bring 132 employees to DGS.
