Philips integrates Infraredx software into Allura Xper

Royal Philips Electronics, parent company of Philips Healthcare, and coronary imaging developer Infraredx have introduced a software collaboration that enables integration of Infraredx's true vessel characterization (TVC) imaging system with Philips' Allura Xper systems.

The partnership allows clinicians to connect Infraredx's TVC imaging system to Philips' Allura Xper catheterization lab imaging system when intravascular imaging is required as part of cardiac catheterization procedures, according to Philips.

The new integration is part of a joint product development agreement Philips and Infraredx announced in October 2012 that aims to improve the integrated functioning of the catheterization lab with the TVC imaging system's near-infrared spectroscopy and intravascular ultrasound technologies, Philips said.
