GE Healthcare is showcasing new dose management and visualization tools at this week's Heart Rhythm Society (HRS) meeting in Denver.
The introductions include Innova EPVision 2.0, software that combines information from electrophysiology (EP) recording and live fluoroscopy, and the firm's Dose Blueprint dose management tool.
Innova EPVision 2.0 offers live visualization of anatomy and medical devices during procedures in which other mapping systems may not be usable, according to GE.
The tool is also useful in situations where enhanced visualization is desirable but traditional mapping procedures may be too expensive. EPVision 2.0 offers the benefit of 3D models for many procedures without adding to costs by requiring extra supplies, GE said.
Procedures benefiting from 3D visualization include typical flutters, atrioventricular reciprocating tachycardia (AVRT), atrioventricular nodal re-entry tachycardia (AVNRT), and Wolff-Parkinson-White (WPW) procedures, the company said.
Dose Blueprint is a new dose strategy that supports a proactive approach to radiation management, according to GE. Low-dose imaging protocols launched at this year's HRS 2013 meeting include a new lower frame rate that gives users an additional exposure rate option with a 50% dose reduction compared to earlier versions. The firm's new DoseMap tool also addresses dose-related challenges in interventions, GE said.
