Digital x-ray technology developer Rayence will unveil its RU-3000 universal digital radiography (DR) system as a work-in-progress at RSNA 2014 in Chicago.
If it receives U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 510(k) clearance, RU-3000 will be the first U-arm system to be marketed by Rayence in the U.S. It features a small footprint and compact design, as well as dual-telescoping arm movement for installation in settings with ceiling heights as low as 8 ft, according to the vendor.
RU-3000 offers fully motorized movements for arm rotation, height, and detector angle; these can be programmed automatically to user-specific radiographic positions by either a touchscreen or handheld remote control, Rayence said. The system has a 17 x 17-inch cesium detector, as well as the firm's XmaruView workstation and software. The company anticipates RU-3000 will be available in mid-2015.
In other product developments, Rayence will highlight a new console for mobile imaging, autostitching, and an image processing tool designed to enhance bone or soft tissue based on the radiologist's preference. The firm will also direct attention to its recently introduced C-Series of wireless detectors.
